This couple of Virtual tours caught my attention on the Australian Version of SKY News – the had about 40 seconds dedicated to them!
These tours are a feature of the brand new website – The QE2.0 I suppose, which replace the old website which has been going since 1996.
With around 100 million hits a year it’s certainly got the potential to raise the profile of our craft.
Present at the launch was Sir Tim Berners-Lee, credited with inventing the world wide web, who had flown in from the US to insist in person that the site represented a great resource enabling anyone from Britain or abroad to find out how the monarchy worked. Media footage about the new site is certainly more interested in the “virtual room” technology than anything else.
The tours were created by Will Pearson and you can view a BBC video here.
The first installment of Free Template Tuesday at Flash360. This is a simple Flash Panorama template with ice blue buttons. It does not include the pano.swf that you will need to buy from www.flashpanoramas.com but everything else is included.

I hope you find it usefull!
Google Earth has had a major upgrade which now enables you to zoom in and swim through the deepest oceans. Certainly places that would not want to go in person (without a huge nitrous tank).
It looks a little empty at the moment – I`m sure soon they will have random wales and sharks in there which will give a sense of scale that’s not there yet.
Another cool feature is that you can go back in time with a scroller – I went back to 1960 in Jurien Bay in Australia, and it was just a few shacks.
One great feature it seems it that 360cities is on by default – meaning our virtual tours are seem by all.
